Smosh Started With a LIP SYNC Video in a Bedroom

Two friends lip-syncing in a bedroom for fun became one of YouTube's very first superstars.
Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox were two teenagers goofing around with a camera in California.
Back in 2005, YouTube was brand new, and no one thought videos could be a job.
They filmed themselves mouthing TV theme songs, just to make each other laugh.
One silly lip-sync video exploded, pulling in millions of views almost overnight.
Smosh became one of the most-subscribed channels on the entire site.
Then a copyright claim wiped their biggest video off the site overnight.
Instead of quitting, they wrote their own sketches and built a comedy empire.
They showed a whole generation that two kids and a camera could build something real.
Long before it was a career, Smosh proved YouTube could make ordinary kids into stars.
