Why a Cheap CABLE Kills Your Fast Charging

A powerful charger, a full battery, yet your phone crawls. The culprit is hiding inside the cable itself.

A cable is just wires, right? So how can swapping it turn a hundred-watt charger into a trickle?

High-power cables hide a tiny chip inside the connector, called an e-marker. When you plug in, the charger asks the cable one thing: how much current can you safely carry? A cable without a chip is assumed to handle only three amps, capping power around sixty watts. To go higher, up to a hundred watts or beyond, the cable needs a chip declaring it is built for five amps. Push five amps through a thin three-amp cable and it overheats, so the charger refuses. No chip, no high power.

Here is the twist: your charger and phone can both be ready for full speed, and still refuse. If the cable cannot prove it is safe, the system holds back. The weakest link is the wire you never think about.
