How Alcohol Is Literally Yeast Waste

Every beer, every glass of wine, every shot of whiskey is, technically, yeast waste.
We treat alcohol like a crafted, refined thing. But no human invented ethanol. So where does the alcohol in every drink actually come from? A microscopic organism's garbage.
Yeast is a living fungus, and like anything alive, it eats and excretes. Its food is sugar — from grapes, grain, anything sweet. When yeast digests sugar without oxygen, it dumps out two waste products: carbon dioxide gas, and ethanol — the alcohol. The yeast can't fully use that ethanol, so it expels it into the liquid around it. We bottle that liquid and call it a drink.
So alcohol isn't an ingredient anyone adds — it's the leftover the yeast threw away. And here's the dark joke: the ethanol eventually builds up so high it poisons the yeast that made it. You're drinking a waste product that killed its own creator.
