When you send a photo, it doesn't travel as one picture. It gets shredded into hundreds of tiny pieces.
So how does one image survive being torn apart, scattered worldwide, and rebuilt perfectly every time?
The internet never sends big files in one chunk. Your photo is sliced into small packets of a few thousand bytes. Each gets a header, like an envelope, stamped with where it's from, where it's going, and its number: one, two, three. Then here's the strange part. They don't travel together. Each packet finds its own route, hopping between routers, some one way, some another. They arrive jumbled and out of order. But because every packet is numbered, the receiving device sorts them back into sequence and rebuilds your photo.
That photo you sent may have crossed three countries in pieces, each fragment taking a separate path, arriving scrambled. The whole internet works this way. Nothing travels whole. It all moves as a swarm of numbered fragments, reassembled in a blink.
