Japan WON Pearl Harbor, Then Lost the War the Same Morning

Japan crippled the US fleet at Pearl Harbor. And in doing it, they guaranteed they would lose the war.

December 7th, 1941. Hundreds of Japanese planes scream over Hawaii, sinking battleships and killing over 2,400 Americans in under two hours.

It looked like a total victory. But the targets that mattered most were never touched. The US aircraft carriers, the future of naval war, were out at sea that morning. And Japan never came back for the fuel tanks or the repair docks.

That was the fatal mistake. The oil in those tanks powered the entire Pacific fleet. Destroy it, and America is crippled for a year. Instead, the dry docks and millions of gallons of fuel survived, and Pearl Harbor was repaired and back in the fight within months.

Japan sank the old battleships and missed everything that won wars. Even their own admiral called it a disaster.
