You are not pushing harder than the metal can take. So how does a soft press flatten something a human could never bend?
The secret is the fluid between them. Press a small piston, and that push spreads as pressure, equal everywhere inside the trapped liquid, because liquids barely compress. That same pressure now pushes up on a second piston with far more area. Same pressure, bigger surface, so the force multiplies. The output force equals your input force times the ratio of the two piston areas. Fifty times the area, fifty times the force.
But you never get force for free. The big piston moves a tiny fraction as far as the small one travels. Work in equals work out. You are trading distance for raw crushing power.
